Friday Finds - Boston for #LDW2015

In an installment I'm calling 'Friday Finds,' I will share my take on new things I experience.  Everything from cities and restaurants to workouts and recipes, if I try it, I will let you know about it.

For this week's Friday Finds, I'm sharing my visit to Boston.  My husband and I decided to visit Beantown during Labor Day Weekend for a couple of different reasons.  For one, it was LDW (duh), which for me always provides a chance to squeeze in some last minute summer fun.  But secondly, and mainly, it was our one year wedding anniversary.  We've had a lot of changes going on in our lives over the past few months and weren't planning on doing anything out of the ordinary dinner but sometimes spontaneity just strikes.  It came in the form of an app my husband introduced me to called HotelTonight, where you're able to score last minute hotel deals in your city of choice.  We were eyeing NYC as we're only a 20 min. train ride away but decided to explore a city we've never been to before, plus the price was right!  We had such a fantastic stay, great eats, and truly enjoyed the vibe of the city.  The locals were also very welcoming, especially despite having accidentally sat in the seats of a Red Sox season ticket holder, oops (she was great though).  Highlights and photos from the trip after the jump.  Enjoy!

TBT Summer 2015 Edition

Hello friends and welcome to my first post! I am starting off with a #TBT as I wanted to showcase a fun summer hike I went on back in June.  It stands out in my mind as it combines two things I enjoy: outdoor fitness and summer weather.

Outdoor activities are a great way to stay active and can be as easy as going for a long walk after that BBQ or even a moderate to difficult hike.   Back in June, I was introduced to Avalon Park & Preserve.  It's a truly phenomenal park with miles upon miles of trails to check out.  Here are a few snaps from that day:

A look at the trail map upon entering the hike.
