Embracing The Fall

Oh, Fall...  Over the past, almost decade, I've had such a love/hate relationship with you.  Being from Miami, I have a deep love of the summer months (the hotter the better, though I do curse at humidity often). And, yes, I know what you're thinking, everyone loves the summer but I literally go into a slight depression when 60 degrees hits.  Not that I don't welcome this refreshing change in temperature but rather because of what it signifies, the slow but inevitable return of Old Man Winter.

Alas, I did marry a northeasterner who absolutely loves this time of year and in turn, I've slowly but surely learned to like it as well, like being the operative word.

One thing my guy does to try and cheer up my pre-Winter gloom is to venture off on long drives to watch the leaves change.  It's one of the most beautiful experiences to witness and is something you just can't find in South Florida.  For this year's tradition, we ventured to find an apple orchard (I actually only wanted apple cider donuts though) to pick our own.

Luckily, there are dozens of ways and places to watch Fall in all its glory. Whether it's on a long drive, a train ride, visiting an apple orchard or pumpkin patch, going for a hike, or visiting an outdoor space such as Storm King. The possibilities are endless.

Here are some photos during our drive to Barton Orchards as well as some snaps from our summer visit to Storm King (which is a great spot to catch those autumn leaves).  The leaves are also at their peak this weekend, full foliage report here.  Definitely a must do before it's too late!

Heading upstate.

Love all the different colors.

If you're able to take a drive, check out the scenic pit stops along the way.  Take in the views and the nature.

Storm King during the summer.  I can only imagine how beautiful it looks now.

How do you embrace the Fall?  Let me know!

Take Care!
