Last Sunday, me and the husband finally checked out Smorgasburg in Prospect Park, which is a food market with dozens of vendors serving all kinds of foods. All I can say is, I really don't know why it took so long to get my butt to Brooklyn (I mean I used to live there). A week later, my mouth is still watering over the yumminess we experienced.
Over the years, and thanks to my guy, I've developed a love of cooking and an appreciation of food in general. And even though we cook 90% of the time, it's nice to get out and try new foods. It also helps keep the passion in the kitchen alive and flowing.
Below is a little photo journal of what we ate that day. My only regret was being too full to try more food!
As I mentioned, we checked out the Prospect Park location (which is closing for the season on Oct. 11) but there are other locations open thru Nov. 21! You still have time!
Though we were starved when we arrived, we felt it was best to start with an appetizer, just to get the palate going. We're big on wings and had been eyeing these bad boys from Dan and John's from the moment we smelled them. Two thumbs way up!
Now that our stomachs weren't yelling curse words at us, we made our next move strategically. There was a long line for Home Frite but it was worth every minute. Especially for their hand cut truffle fries with house-made lemon garlic aioli sauce. Insert puddle.
Here's me creeping on my next victim, also known as the best ice cream sandwich I have ever had (yes, dramatic but oh so true). The Good Batch, you did good!
Between one of those bites, I also managed to fit in a mini pulled pork sandwich from Mighty Quinns BBQ. Unfortunately, I finished it before I could photograph it but trust me, it was gooood (the extra o's are there to emphasize just that.)
Also, I have a new appreciation for folks that take photos of their food. When it's that good, you just need to capture it.
Go check out Smorgasburg before their season ends! Just do it!
Take care!
